A recent survey of police chiefs conducted by George Mason University found:

• Nearly 9 out of 10 police chiefs said that America could greatly reduce crime by expanding educational child care programs and after-school programs.
  
  
• 7 out of 10 said that providing more educational child care programs and after-school programs would have "the biggest impact on reducing youth violence."
